Edgecore Network’s AGR400 100GbE aggregation router leverages Broadcom’s StrataDNX Qumran2C silicon to provide packet switching at up to 2.4 Tbps. According to the manufacturer, the AGR400 enables enterprises and service providers to deploy future-proof solutions for internet peering, 5G network, OpenBNG, and aggregation applications.
The AGR400 spine router comprises 4× 25G SFP28, 18× 100G QSFP28, 4× 100G QSFP-DD, and 4× 400G QSFP-DD network interfaces in a 2RU compact design. Edgecore also offers a leaf router, the AGR420, which consists of 64× 10G/25G SFP28, 8× 100G QSFP28, and 2× 100G QSFP-DD network interfaces. In addition to the StrataDNX SoC, both routers employ an 8-core server-grade Intel CPU, 32G RAM, 128G SSD, and Aspeed Technology’s AST2600 baseboard management controller (BMC).
The AGR400 and AGR420 routers come with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) preinstalled, which allows the installation of compatible network operating system (NOS) software, including Open Network Linux, as well as commercial NOS offerings.
